Online Studies in itself is not new, many have been able to advance their education and obtain higher qualifications in professional courses, from highly accredited universities and colleges in recent years. However, never has the need for online studies been widely used, as an alternative to in-class learning amongst pupils and students within the primary, secondary schools and colleges, as it has been in 2020 due the COVID-19 Pandemic. This need has grown more and more due to the constant unpredictable and long lasting lockdowns, causing schools and colleges to close, resulting in more schools moving onto online remote learning.
We at Boldst3p see that the major challenges to this remote learning is the technical tools and access to internet connections. In times like these where a lot of families are struggling to make ends meet, the least of their worries is being able to afford computers and laptops for their children, to be able to have access to their school's online remote learning.
BoldSt3p Home Study Initiative
BoldSt3p Home Study Initiative was conceived and thanks to Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO) for considering our application, putting us forward for funding and thanks Comic Relief for funding our project. We have been able to rent for free, laptop computers to the young ones in need of this technology, to gain access to their school's online remote learning.
The future of our children's education can not be left to jeopardise, as a result of this COVID-19 pandemic. We need to find ways to assist them gain access to proper education at this most important period of their growth. We are helping families within the Greater Manchester area, gain access to these all important tools to increase their chances of not losing out on their education.
